The EU Pay Transparency Directive was discussed, for quite some time, as a distant compliance milestone. Today, it is actively reshaping the manner in which companies recruit, pay, and, maybe most importantly, communicate.
We wrapped up a new edition of WORK IN PROGRESS – Beyond the Gap, where we brought together professionals to share what happens when the new regulatory requirements meet daily business practices.
Led by Adela Nuta and Iunia Epure, the conversation moved past a simple legal reading of the directive and focused on the practical and strategic adjustments organizations need to prepare for:
👉 Rethinking salary transparency and pay structures from the very first interaction with a candidate.
👉 Managing the (delicate) shift in how compensation structures are communicated internally.
👉 Preparing for pay gap reporting and equal pay claims before the first wave of disputes begins to clarify how courts interpret these concepts.
A note for this specific moment we find ourselves in: For companies to wait for court precedents to define the rules of engagement is a high-risk strategy. The real advantage lies in understanding the gaps today, and starting to align your legal and human resources strategy with your business reality.
The next chapters of our WORK IN PROGRESS series are already taking shape. Stay tuned.
