STEP INTO YOUR FUTURE, our internship program is more than just a learning curve; it is a shared journey where experience meets motivation. To better understand the impact of this collaboration, we sat down with our mentors to discuss the moments that define their role and the legacy they hope to leave with the next generation of legal professionals.

Called STEP INTO ANSWERS, the series is nothing short of a number of heartfelt discussions with our very own mentors. Next talk: Denisa Dragusin.

• What has been the most moving moment so far in your interaction with the students you have mentored?

Denisa: The moment that had the greatest impact in my interaction with the students was when a student confessed that, thanks to the confidence given to them during the internship, they had the courage to apply for an opportunity they previously considered unattainable. It was an emotional moment that made me realize how important it is that, beyond the academic guidance they provide, a mentor must be an empathetic person, involved in discovering the students’ potential.

• What is the most important thing you want this experience—interacting with dedicated mentors—to leave behind for the students?

Denisa: The most important thing I would like to remain following such an experience is for students to understand that professional development is not a linear path and that it is natural to have questions, doubts, or moments of uncertainty.

The interaction with a mentor should offer them not only information or concrete points of reference, but especially the confidence that they can learn from mistakes, that they can ask for support when they need it, and that they have the necessary resources to build their own path. I would like our interaction to help them become more aware of their strengths and more courageous in pursuing their goals.

• To summarize: from your perspective as a mentor, what does the BACIU PARTNERS internship project concretely add for the students who join us during this period?

Denisa: The BACIU PARTNERS internship project offers students real practical experience, which complements their theoretical training very well.

Students have the opportunity to understand concretely how day-to-day legal activity functions, to work on real cases, to develop their critical thinking and attention to detail, but also to learn the importance of responsibility and teamwork.

At the same time, the constant interaction with involved mentors (and with the other members of the extended team) provides them with support, constant feedback, and clear references, contributing to the clarification of their professional direction.
